Kaspar Taimsoo

Kaspar Taimsoo ( born April 30, 1989 in Viljandi ) is an Estonian rowers.

Sporting successes

Taimsoo began at the age of seven years with the rowing. His first international competition was the 2004 Junior World Championships in Banyoles, where he finished in 14th place in the double sculls with Alo Kuslap. 2005 starting for the club Viljandi Sõudeklubi athlete won the bronze medal in the one at the Junior World Championships in Brandenburg Beetzsee. The World Rowing Championships 2007 in Munich, he went along with Allar Raja, Igor Kuzmin and Vladimir Latin in the quadruple sculls at the start. The Estonian team took second place in the B final and thus the eighth place in the final standings. In the same occupation, the team also start at the helm European Championships 2007 in Poznan, where they finished fifth in the A-final. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing she moved into the B final and erruderten ninth place. Together with Vladimir Latin launched Taimsoo in double sculls at the Rowing 2008 European Championships in Athens. After they had lain long in the lead, they were beaten by the French duo at the end and won the silver medal ahead of the Ukrainian athletes.

Since the 2009 season, he starts with Allar Raja in the double sculls. At the World Cup in Munich they reach the A-final, where she finished fifth. In Lucerne, the duo was able to increase and finished third. Rate this place they could fight in Poznan also at the World Rowing Championships 2009. At the helm European Championships in 2009 they succeeded even a start- to-finish victory and Taimsoo celebrated his first international title. In the U23 World Championships in Račice Taimsoo started in one, but suffered in the flow of heat stroke and could not finish the race.

Awards

Taimsoo was selected with the double sculls and 2012 with the sculls Team of the Year in Estonia 2009.
