Kassai and Leuk

Kassai and Leuk (Original Title: Samba et Leuk le lièvre ) was produced by Marathon Media Group French animated series. The first of its kind it was based on actual African myths and legends and was based on figures from Leopold Sedar Senghor. The humanoid rabbit Leuk, one of the series protagonist, is a well-known figure from African textbooks and Princess Marana appeared in many local fables. The title song Samba Et Leuk by Ismaël Lô comes from.

Action

The series begins with the appearance of the magician Ogotem in a village. He is looking for the savior of Africa and finds this in the young, raised by lions Kassai. The village, however, has been occupied by the evil god Togoum with a curse that can only be solved by the reawakening of a statue of Koorie, the goddess of the earth. Kassai embarks on a variety of trips to find continent-wide different parts of the statue. He is accompanied by larger than life rabbit Leuk, which is able to speak all animal languages. Already in the second episode, the duo meets the Princess Marana, in the Kassai immediately falls in love. However, it lives as a result of taking a potion during the day in the form of a gazelle and only at night can be transformed into a woman. Marana joins the two together and they see themselves in the course of the series numerous enemies and threats against.

At the end it is possible to awaken the goddess Koorie back to life and the village to solve the curse, while the Kassai also permanently again human Marana marries and beyond solves the mystery of its origin.
