Kate Mara

Kate Mara ( born February 27, 1983 in Bedford, New York ) is an American actress.

Life and career

Mara is the daughter of Timothy Christopher Mara, a scout for the New York Giants, and Kathleen McNulty. She is of Italian and Irish descent. She has an older brother named Daniel, and two younger siblings, brother and sister Conor Rooney Mara, who is also an actress. Mara began at the age of nine years performing in musicals and plays her school and later played professional theater.

After Mara had left the stage, she played her first role in 1997 in front of the camera in the series Law & Order. In 1999, she turned with Joe the King her first film. In 2003, she was in four episodes of the TV series Nip / Tuck - Beauty has seen its price. In 2005, she played the lead role in the horror film Urban Legends 3 and had a supporting role in the drama Brokeback Mountain.
