Kate Pace

Kate Pace - Lindsay ( born February 13, 1969 in North Bay, Ontario) is a former alpine skier from Canada. She was particularly successful in the downhill.

Biography

The beginning of her career was marked by injuries. Their first World Cup season went Pace 1990/1991, where she was in the downhill in Furano in Japan fourth. Shortly thereafter, she was injured badly in downhill training of Lake Louise. Hardly recovered, she had the season 1991/1992 end due to a cruciate ligament injury and could not participate in the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville so.

In the 1992/1993 World Cup season, they started with a 5th place. In the super -G in Cortina d' Ampezzo she broke her wrist in a fall. With a plaster collar Pace started at the training runs for the World Cup downhill in Morioka, reaching several personal bests. In the race, she was able to confirm their training results and won the gold medal ahead of Astrid Lødemel and Anja Haas. A few weeks later, she won her first World Cup race in the last season departure in Hafjell.

My second and last World Cup victory she succeeded in the first departure of the following season in Tignes. She reached two more times this winter was behind the podium and Katja Seizinger second in the downhill World Cup. At the Olympic Winter Games 1994 Pace Fifth in Downhill and Super-G in the Twelfth.

In subsequent seasons, they could no longer connect to their successes. At the 1996 World Championships in Sierra Nevada they missed the bronze medal as 4 to 1/100 second. Kate Pace ended her racing career in 1998.
