Kate Thompson (romantic novelist)

Kate Thompson ( born 1959 in Belfast) is an Irish writer who has worked as an actress until 1998. She also wrote under the pseudonym Pixie Pirelli.

Life

Thompson was born in 1959 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She studied English and French literature at Trinity College in Dublin, but was first known as a film and theater actress: In 1989, she won the Best Actress Award at the Dublin Theatre Festival. From 1989 to 1998 she played the " Terry Killeen " in the Irish soap opera Glenroe on RTÉ One.

1996 decided to write and already her first novel, It Means Mischief Thompson ( 1999, German in 2000 as The lights of Dublin), became a bestseller. In Ireland, Thompson, is published by New Iceland, since 2009, by Harper Collins; German to appear their romantic novels in Munich Earthscan Publishers. In 2006, she also published as Pixie Pirelli 's novel Hard to Choos.

Thompson is married to actor Malcolm Douglas since 1985 and since 1987 a daughter. She lives with her family in Dublin and on Ireland's west coast.
