Katherine Harris

Katherine Harris ( born April 5, 1957 in Key West, Florida) is an American politician. It belongs to the Republican Party.

Katherine Harris studied at the University of Madrid. After their return from Spain, she earned 1979 at Agnes Scott College in Decatur Bachelor of Arts degree. Subsequently, she worked as an estate agent. In 1996, she visited then Harvard University and graduated from there with a Master of Public Administration.

From 2003 to 2007 she was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and represented the 13th congressional district where the state of Florida. For the Senate elections in 2006 she ran for a seat as senator, but lost to Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson.

From 1994 to 1998 she served on the Senate of Florida. In 2000, she was in Florida in the government of Governor Jeb Bush Secretary of State ( as Home Secretary ) and played an important role in the controversial demolition of Stimmennachzählungen the U.S. presidential election in 2000 in this election -critical state. She was the last elected Minister of the Interior, as these Cabinet position is occupied since a constitutional amendment in 1998 by appointment.
