Kathleen Monahan

Kathleen Monahan ( born November 9, 1972 in Aspen, Colorado) is a former American alpine skier. She is two-time U.S. champion.

Monahan grew up in Aspen and was at the age of four for the first time on skis. At eight, she performed her first race.

Her debut in the World Cup they were in 1992. Nevertheless, they initially celebrated her first success in the North American Nor- Am Cup. In 1995 she was the overall winner of this race series and also secured the victory in the giant slalom standings. After this success, she took from the season 1995/96 regularly participate in the Ski World Cup. In the course of her career she was also placed twice in the top ten. Greatest success was a third place in the Super G in St. Moritz in March 1999. During the same year she was also at the U.S. Championships champion in the combined and super-G. At the end of the season she pulled in a pub in Zermatt a tear of the cartilage in his right knee that forced them to a two-year break.

Her comeback in the Olympic season 2001/ 02 started behaving. Slowly she went back against the best twenty. Only at the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City succeeded with rank 11 in the Super -G again a good placement.

After Monahan had played their last World Cup race in December 2002, she retired in 2004 final of ski racing back.
