Kathy Watt

Kathryn Watts ( born September 11, 1964), named Kathy, is an Australian cyclist.

Career

In the Olympic road race in Barcelona in 1992, she surprised the competition and won here the first Australian Olympic gold medal ever in road cycling. Your silver medal in the individual pursuit, a few days later confirmed its unique position and made it the most successful up to that Australian cyclists at the Olympic Games. At the 1995 World Championships in Colombia, she won the first Australian bronze medal in the individual time trial.

Despite recurring quarrels with the Australian Association of the former track and field athlete dared a comeback and won at the Commonwealth Games in March 2006 with 41 years, the silver medal in the individual time trial (and thus their fourth medal since 1990) and qualified once again for the World Championships in Salzburg in September, 2006.

In her long career, she interrupted the meantime, to work as a photojournalist, she won 24 Australian Championships.
