Katrin Himmler

Katrin Himmler ( * 1967 in Dinslaken ) is a German political scientist and author. At least since the work on their book published in 2005, The Brothers Himmler. A German family history, she sits down with the scientific activity of their great-uncle, the Reichsführer- SS and organizer of the Holocaust and Porajmos, Heinrich Himmler, before and during the Nazi period apart.

Life

Katrin Himmler grew up in Spain and South Germany, studied political science and dealt with the issues of racism and interculturalism. She lives with her son in Berlin.

Her grandfather was Ernst Himmler, one of the two brothers of Heinrich Himmler, related by marriage to Richard Wendler.

In 2005, she published the book The Brothers Himmler. A German family history, in which they earnestly and Gebhard Himmler, the two brothers of the " Reichsführer- SS " dealt. She put in the previously prevailing view, the two brothers were apolitical technocrats in question.

2014, it published together with the historian Michael Wildt in Piper Verlag the book Himmler privately - Letters of a mass murderer, in the newly discovered letters of Heinrich Himmler to his wife Margaret ( 1893-1967 ) from the years 1927 to 1933 and from 1940 to 1945, supplemented by letters and diaries of Margaret and their daughter Gudrun (* 1929), were published.

Katrin Himmler is a protagonist of the documentary " My family, the Nazis and Me " by Israeli director Chanoch Ze'evi about the descendants of Nazi perpetrators.
