Katrin Leumann

Katrin Leumann ( born February 8, 1982 in Basel) is a Swiss mountain biker and cyclo-cross rider.

Biography

Katrin Leumann began biking at the age of 15 years when she received a mountain bike for my confirmation. For several years she drove the category Fun, partly because the category U -23 was introduced in the women until 2006, when she was already too old. As the first top ranking she reached the 2003 World Cup race in St. Wendel tenth place. In 2004 she was Swiss champion in cross-country for the first time. A success they could repeat in 2008 and 2009. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, she was flown in the day before the cross -country race as a replacement for the injured Petra Henzi. She achieved her greatest success yet in 2010, when she won the gold medal in cross-country as well as in the relay at the European Championships in Haifa mountain bike. At the Mountain Bike World Championships 2010 in Mont Sainte -Anne brought her also gold with the Swiss relay.

Since 2011 Leumann Team takes for the Ghost Factory Racing after they were riding a few years ago as a single rider in the World Cup.

In addition to mountain bike cross-country race Leumann also drives. In 2007 she became Swiss champion and in the years 2008 to 2012, she was each second.

Katrin Leumann is a trained kindergarten teacher and sublevels teacher and lives in Riehen.
