Katrin Wagner-Augustin
Katrin Wagner -Augustin, nee Wagner, (born 13 October 1977 in Brandenburg ( Havel ), East Germany ) is a German canoeist. She is four-time Olympic gold medalist in canoe racing.
Sporting career
Wagner was. During the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Olympic champion in the two-man and four-man kayak At the 2004 Olympics in Athens and at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing she won gold in the quad and also bronze in One.
She is also 10 - time World Champion, 13 - times European Champion and 49 - time German champion in canoe racing.
Katrin Wagner -Augustin starts for the canoe club Potsdam and is a sports soldier of sports promotion group of the German Armed Forces in Potsdam. She is married to the former selection canoeists Lars Augustin since 1 October 2004 and has with him a son (* 2011). After her maternity leave, she answered back with two European Championships ( kayak four 500 - m & Kayak One 500 -m) and a third place (kayak - One 5000 -m) at the European Championships 2012 in Zagreb; at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she took silver with the kayak four women over 500 m.
At the closing ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing she was wearing the German flag in the Olympic Stadium.
