Katsuya Ogawa

Katsuya Ogawa (Japanese小川 胜 也Ogawa Katsuya; * July 7, 1963 in Wassamu, County Kamikawa, Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party ( Hatoyama group) and a deputy in Sangiin, the upper house of the Japanese parliament, for Hokkaidō.

Ogawa, graduated from the Faculty of Law, Nihon Daigaku, worked after his graduation as secretary of Kunio Hatoyama Shūgiinabgeordneten. In the 1995 election Sangiin Ogawa himself stood as a candidate of the New Progressive Party in Hokkaido (two mandates) and became the second highest share of the vote behind Hisamitsu Sugano ( SPJ ) first elected to parliament. In 1996, he joined the DPJ, for which he was in 2001, 2007 and 2013, confirmed in each case for six more years. In Sangiin, he served as chairman of the Agriculture Committee ( 2011-2012).

After the government takeover of the Democrats in 2009 Ogawa was first Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Hatoyama and Kan for the promotion of rural areas (农 山 渔村 地域 活性 化, nōsangyōson chiiki kasseika, literally " activation of areas with farmers, mountain and fishing villages "). In January 2011, Ogawa was appointed in the reshuffled Cabinet Kan as the successor of Minister Jun Azumi, who took over the presidency of the DPJ Committee for Parliamentary Affairs, to " deputy minister " in the Defense Ministry.
