The sports hall Kaunas ( Lithuanian Kauno sporto Hale, KSH ) is the first basketball sports hall (basketball stadium) in Europe. It was built when the Lithuanian basketball team in 1937 finished in 1st place at the European Championship in Riga. The hall with its up to 11,000 seats ( 3,500 seats ) was built on 5 December 1938 to 10 May 1939. The construction cost 400,000 litas ( 220,000 Litas were covered bonds ).
