Kaunos (mythology)

Caunos ( Καῦνος ancient Greek, Latin Caunus ) is a figure from Greek mythology.

He was the son of Miletos and twin brother of Byblis. She fell in love Caunos, he fled, and they pursued him throughout much of Greece and Asia Minor, until they finally exhausted and sad transformed into a source ( Ovid, Metamorphoses, 9, 453 ff.) According to him the city of Caunos is named.
