Kavaratti ( Malayalam: കവരത്തി Kavaratti ) is 4.22 km ² is the third largest island and seat of the administration of the Indian Union Territory of Lakshadweep in the Arabian Sea. The approximately 6 km long and 1 km wide atoll island belongs to the archipelago of Lakshadweep and has about 11,000 inhabitants (calculation, as of 1 January 2007).

Nearly all the inhabitants are Muslims Kavarattis - on the small island, there are 52 mosques - and speak a dialect of Malayalam. However, Kavaratti has of all the islands Lakshadweeps the largest share of immigrants from other parts of Indians.
