Kavli Prize
The Kavli Prize is conferred every two years since 2008 Science Prize, donated by Fred Kavli ( 1927-2013 ).
The prize is worth in three research areas ( astrophysics, nanoscience and neuroscience ), each with one million U.S. dollars. For multiple winners in a category, it will be split. The prize money, the The Kavli Foundation, founded by native Norwegians Fred Kavli. At a young age to California, USA, emigrated, he has made his fortune with a company for aircraft sensors.
The members of the Prize Committee appoints the Norwegian Academy of Sciences. The price presented the Norwegian king Harald during a ceremony.
