The built since 2002 Kawasaki Z1000 is a sporty naked bike from the Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki Heavy Industries. It has been brought by Kawasaki as a successor to the 1972-1984 built Kawasaki Z series on the market, however, has few similarities with the old models. Since 2004 she is with her little sister of the Z 750 a model range. From the Z1000 so far three model versions were produced. First time no longer be the 953 cm3 engine of now-defunct Kawasaki ZX- 9R, but a separate unit with 1043 cm3 has been installed for the current version of the model 2010.

Model profile

In Street Fighter style the Z1000 was introduced in late 2002 to the public. Striking feature are the two exhaust pipes on the right and left sides that are stylistically continued until the 2010 model year.

The envisaged for Germany amount for the 2003 model year was sold out in August 2003. The motorcycles were renewed for model year 2007 and 2010 respectively. In addition, however facelift was operated annually, but was limited to minor changes.

2003-2007

The Z1000 (internal ZRT00A ) was built with unregulated catalyst and remained from 2003 to 2007 except for a few details as part of the facelift such as Paint, Immobiliser, transmission gears, spring types in the chassis almost unchanged.

2007-2009

The successor (internal ZRT00B ) was built with regulated catalytic converter and has from that typical for the model 4-pipe exhaust a fundamentally revised design on. For the first time this model was also available with ABS (internal ZRT00C ).

From 2010

On 5 October 2009, the Z1000 was ( internally ZRT00D or with ABS ZRT00E ) officially unveiled the 2010 model year. She is waiting for a re completely revised design, an aluminum frame and a newly developed engine.
