Kawauchi (Fukushima)

Kawauchi (川 内 村jap, -mura ) is a village community in the district of Futaba in the Japanese prefecture of Fukushima.

Geography

Kawauchi is centrally located in Abukuma Highlands and is in large part to 500 to 600 meters. Since the highlands is characterized mainly by forests, the municipality has been inhabited only weakly despite its size. The population is concentrated mainly in the river valleys, especially along the Kido -gawa (木 戸 川) and its tributary rivers. The municipality consists of the two districts Kamikawauchi (上 川 内, dt " upper Kawauchi " ) and Shimokawauchi (下 川 内, dt " sub - Kawauchi " ) in a northern and southern valley of the Kido -gawa.

The highest elevation, also of Abukuma highlands, is the Ōtakine -yama (大 滝 根 山) with 1192.5 m on the border with Tamura.

Surrounded Kawauchi is clockwise from Okuma, Tomioka, Naraha, Iwaki and Tamura.

History

The community Kawauchi was founded during the nationwide reorganization of the municipal system on April 1, 1889 from the merger of the administrative villages Kamikawauchi and Shimokawauchi in the former county Naraha (楢 叶 郡, -gun ). This county was (双 叶 郡, -gun ), literally, on 1 April 1896 the county Shineha (标 叶 郡, -gun ) to the district of Futaba, " two ha (叶) " merged.

When Tohoku Earthquake of 11 March 2011, the community had due to their remote location to record only little damage and no deaths or missing, but was greatly affected by the Fukushima nuclear disaster triggered it. The eastern part of the municipality lies within the 20 - km exclusion zone, so that 350 people were forced to leave this area. The most populated areas are located within the 20-30 km zone for which the evacuation was recommended. The municipal administration and parts of the population evacuated after Kōriyama and arrived there at the Events Center Big range Abukuma. End of September 2011, the government moved the evacuation recommendation back; to March 2012 to return to Kawauchi residents.

Traffic

The most important trunk road Kawauchi is the National Road 399 according to Iwaki or Nan'yō. There is no connection to the rail network.

Education

In Kawauchi the elementary school is Kawauchi (川 内 村 立 川 内 小学校, Kawauchi - sonritsu Kawauchi shōgakkō ) and the middle school Kawauchi (川 内 村 立 川 内 中 学校, Kawauchi - sonritsu Kawauchi chūgakkō ). There is, despite the low population number two high schools: the prefectural high school Tomioka, Kawauchi (福岛 県 立 富 冈 高等学校 川 内 校, Fukushima kenritsu Tomioka Kōtō Gakko Kawauchi -kō ) as a branch of high school Tomioka and the private Daichi Gakuen High School (大智 学园 高等学校, Daichi gakuen Kōtō Gakko ).
