Kay Ryan

Kay Ryan ( born 1945 in San Jose, California) is an American poet who is the 16th Poet Laureate of the United States since September 2008. It is the successor of Charles Simic. She studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. Since 1971 she lives in Fairfax, California. In 2012 her the National Humanities Medal was awarded.
