Kay Weniger

Less Kay (* 1956 in Berlin) is an Austrian art historian who is known primarily for his extensive film- historical works.

Life

He retired in August 1957 with his parents, the Austrian actor Hans less and the German actress Sigrid Roth, and his older brother to Hamburg. There he made his Abitur in 1975 and then studied at the University of Hamburg, art history, history and archeology. It was in 1987 with a thesis on reconstruction and new building plans in Hamburg from 1945 to 1950, urban continuity or change? doctorate.

After graduating, he worked as editor of the travel department for the world and the world on Sunday. Since his youth in film and film history interested, he also wrote reports on this subject for the Hörzu and the world on Sunday.

In 1993, he left the world on Sunday and has since worked on research for the film history. A collection of material on this subject he had already begun in the early 1970s. Based on the research in 2001 he published his eight -volume standard work The great people lexicon of the film. With its 6100 entries, it is the most comprehensive biographical reference work in this subject area.

The following lexical works Weniger dealt with the impact of national socialist policies on film and theater and music artists. During the 2008 published book " Between stage and barrack " portrayed living in the sphere of the Nazi regime victims of this policy, were in the terminal work published in 2011, "It is in life you taken more for granted ...
