Kayaba Ku-2

The Kayaba Ku -2 was a Japanese Experimental Glider.

The Ku -2 was one of a series of flying wing were built in Japan on behalf of the Imperial Japanese Army in the years of the Second World War 1938-1942 by Kayaba Industry to investigate the possibilities of tailless aircraft.

The engineer Hidemasa Kimura developed with the chief designer Shigeki Naito Ku- 2 on the basis of the previous model, Ku -1. The machine had a swept wing with two rudders at the end of the wing. With the Ku -2 a total of 262 test flights were carried out between October 1940 and May 1941.

The results of the test series were transferred to the version of the Ku -4. The Ku -4 was built with a 90 kW (120 hp) rear engine pressure Proller as engine aircraft. The experimental series was abandoned in 1942, but mass production did not exist.
