Kayl

Kayl ( Luxembourgish Keel, for the people " calves " ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton Esch -sur-Alzette.

Geography

Kayl is located in the south of Luxembourg and touched with a small tip to the border with France.

Composition of the community

The municipality comprises the towns and Kayl Tétange ( Tétange ).

History

For the first time the place is called 1235, when Alexander of Zolver the Differdingen woman pin his abgekauften from the canon of St. Paulin in Trier goods bequeathed in " Keyle ". The name Kayl has changed only slightly since the 13th century, although over 20 different spellings are known.
