Geography
The village is located about nine kilometers southeast of Zeitz core city and is crossed by the Schnauder, which gave its name to the Schnaudertal. It rises in two spring-fed streams, the Lindenberger and the more water leading Kaynaer Schnauder. Your confluence is located in Room Spora - Loitsch.
For the former municipality Kayna included the districts Lindenberg, grinding, Roda and Zettweil.
All four former districts are very rural. Lindenberg is the smallest of the villages (about 35 inhabitants / 2007). There are some old buildings and farms, some of which are under monument protection.
History
Kayna was first mentioned in 964 in a document. It goes back to a Slavic settlement.
