Kazimieras Motieka

Casimir Motieka ( born November 12, 1929 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian lawyer, lawyer, former politician, Member of the Seimas, Parliament vice president.

Life

From 1949 to 1950 Casimir Motieka studied law at Vilnius University (VU) and from 1950 to 1951 at the Leningrad State University, from 1951 to 1954 again at the VU, where he completed the diploma program.

From 1954 to 1996 he was a prosecutor in Soviet Lithuania, interrogators in special cases ( tardytojas ), head of department for questioning, 1960-1961 prosecutor of Vilnius in Lenin Raion. Casimir Motieka was a member of the Lithuanian Supreme Soviet ( Lietuvos Respublikos Aukščiausioji Taryba ) and 1990-1992 Deputy Chairman. Since 1961 he is a lawyer. Until 2004 he was head of his own law firm. Since 2004 he is a senior partner of the law firm " Motieka ir Audzevičius ". The focus area is criminal law.

From 1998 to 2002 was Motieka President of the Lithuanian Bar Association and chairman of the Lithuanian Prosecutor Council ( lit. Lietuvos advokátů taryba ).
