Kazimierz Siemienowicz

Casimir Simienowicz (* 1600, † 1651) was a nobleman from Poland - Lithuania. Born in the area Raseiniai he was probably of Lithuanian origin. The Lithuanian form Casimir Simonavičius is blank and only a reconstruction according to current use - there was no in the 17th century Lithuanian family name.

Life

Casimir Simienowicz graduate studies at the University of Vilnius. Later he worked as a military engineer and officer. Simienowicz traveled on behalf of the king Władysław IV Vasa, inter alia, the Netherlands. He was an artillery specialist and pioneer of rocketry and left with his work Ars magna pars prima artilleriae of 1650 one of the first descriptions of the three-stage rocket technology.

1650 in Amsterdam the work Artis Magnae Artilleriae ( " Large artillery art" ) was printed. The work was translated into French ( 1651), German ( 1676 ), Netherlands ( 1729 ) and English. The German title is:
