Kazimierz Zarankiewicz

Kazimierz Zarankiewicz ( born 2 May 1902 in Częstochowa, † September 5, 1959 in London) was a Polish mathematician. His main interest was the topology, complex numbers and number theory.

He studied at the University of Warsaw together with such well-known mathematicians such as Zygmunt Janiszewski, Mazurkiewicz, Sierpiński, Kuratowski and Stanisław Saks. During the Second World War, he was deported to a concentration camp for participating in the underground university. From 1957, he was Vice President of the International Astronautical Federation.
