Kazzinc

Kazzinc (Russian Казцинк ) is a mining company in Kazakhstan based in Öskemen. Among the products of Kazzinc mainly include zinc, lead and copper and the precious metals gold and silver.

It employs approximately 22,000 employees in Kazzinc. The company's sales amounted to around 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in fiscal year 2008.

History

The company was created in 1997 through the merger of three large companies Ust- Kamenogorsk Lead and Zinc Combinate, Leninogorsk Polymetallic Combinate and Zyrianovsk Lead Combinate that belonged to all majority owned by the Kazakh government. Today Kazzinc among 69 percent of the Swiss Glencore International AG, which operates in the commodity trading world.
