Kearney County, Nebraska

Kearney County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Minden, which was named after German immigrants from Minden.

Geography

The County is located in southern Nebraska, is about 40 km from the state of Kansas and has an area of ​​1337 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Buffalo County, Adams County, Webster County, Franklin County, Harlan County and Phelps County.

History

Kearney County was formed in 1860. It was named after the Fort Kearny, which in turn was named after Brigadier General Stephen W. Kearny.
