Kebede Balcha

Balcha Kebede ( born September 7, 1951) is a former Ethiopian marathon runner.

At the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki he won the silver medal in 2:10:27 behind Robert De Castella (AUS ) and before Olympic champion Waldemar Cierpinski (DDR ).

Other achievements are the gold medal at the African Marathon Championship in 1979 in Dakar, four wins at the Montreal Marathon (1979, 1981, 1983, 1985), a fourth place in the London Marathon in 1983, second place at the Frankfurt Marathon 1984, and the Tokyo International Women's Marathon in 1985 and a bronze medal at the Pan-African games in 1987.

His personal best of 2:10:03 he set in 1983 in Montreal.
