KEGG

The KEGG or advertised Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes is a freely accessible database of structured information on the structures of biomolecules, drugs, chemical equations, metabolic pathways, genes, the functional hierarchy of biological systems in different organisms.

She has that whole cells, organisms and ultimately the biosphere to represent the goal of bioinformatics in order to make computer- assisted predictions of complex cellular processes and behavior of organisms due to genetic and molecular information.

Built and maintained the database of the Kanehisa Laboratories in Bioinformatikzentrum of Kyoto University and the Human Genome Center of the University of Tokyo. It exists since 1995.
