Keiji Kikkawa

Keiji Kikkawa (Japanese吉川 圭 二, Keiji Kikkawa, born October 1, 1935 in Shimane Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese theoretical physicist.

Kikkawa studied at Tokyo University, where in 1959 he earned his bachelor's and his master's degree in 1961. 1964 doctorate, then remained until 1966 when researchers at the University of Tokyo, after which he was at the University of Rochester and the University of Wisconsin as a Research Associate. From 1970 he was an associate professor at the City College of New York and from 1974 at the University of Osaka. From 1979 he was professor at the University of Hiroshima.

Kikkawa is one of the pioneers of string theory, with which he has dealt in collaboration with Bunji Sakita, Miguel Virasoro and Michio Kaku from the late 1960s.
