Keith Arkell

Keith Charles Arkell ( born June 8, 1961 in Birmingham ) is an English chess player.

Life

In 1985 he received the title of International Master (IM ), 1995 Grandmaster title (GM). In 1998 he was British champion in chess, at the British Individual Championship 2008, he was second behind Stuart Conquest. His highest Elo rating, he reached in July 1996 with 2545th

From 1986 to 1993 he was married to the chess player Susan Lalic.

Clubs

Arkell played in the British Four Nations Chess League in the 1993/94 season in the North West Eagles in season 1994/95 in Slough, from 1995 to 2000 at the Midland Monarchs (1998 renamed Bigwood ), with which he in 1997 and 1998 the competition was won from 2000 to 2002, White Rose, in the season 2003/ 04 at 3Cs from 2005 to 2007 Hilsmark Kingfisher and plays since 2010 in Cheddleton. In France he played until 2002 when Nancy Échecs.

Keith Arkell took part in six European Club Cup: 1984 with the Rugby Chess Club, 1995 and 1996 with the Slough Chess Club, 2000 Nancy Échecs as well as 2006 and 2007 with Hilsmark Kingfisher.
