Keith County, Nebraska

Keith County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Ogallala, which was named after the people of the Oglala.

Geography

The County is located in west-central Nebraska, bounded on the southwest by the extreme northeastern corner of Colorado and has an area of ​​2874 square kilometers, of which 126 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Arthur County, McPherson County, Lincoln County, Perkins County, Deuel County and Garden County.

History

Keith County was formed in 1873. It was named after C. Keith Morrill, the grandfather of Governor Keith Neville.
