Keith Greene

Keith Greene ( born January 5, 1938 in Leytonstone ) is a retired British racing driver.

Keith Greene grew up in the environment of the British racing team Gilby Enginnering, which belonged to his father. It was therefore no wonder that Greene was already with 18 years of motorsport. 1958 was a Lotus Eleven already with whom he went his second race car with British sports car race at the start.

In 1959 he began his single-seater career and was already in his first race second in the Formula 2 race at Aintree. Greene denied until 1961 his race with cars of Cooper Gilby built an own racing car for the 1.5 - liter formula of the former Formula 1. Greene went to the car at the Grand Prix of Great Britain in 1961 at the start. His debut in the motor racing class he had been a year given before and unlike last year he managed this time to the fifteenth rank at least one placement.

1962 Greene was with Gilby, who is now a V8 engine of BRM in the rear had a strong third in the Grand Prix of Naples, only beaten by the two factory Ferrari of Willy Mairesse and Lorenzo Bandini.

When Gilby after persistent failure retired the end of 1962 motorsport drove Greene again sports and touring car racing. End of the 1960s he withdrew from active sports but was back up to the middle of the 1990s managed a range of racing teams in the UK.
