Keith, Moray
Keith (Gaelic: Baile Chèith or Ceith Mhaol Rubha ) is a small town in the Scottish unitary authority Moray on the banks of the River Isla, a tributary of the Deveron. It lies just off the A96, which connects Aberdeen with Inverness. Keith is connected with its own railway station on the railway network. In the year 2001 4491 inhabitants were registered.
Keith is the major whiskey Speyside and is currently location of three active distilleries: Aultmore, Strathisla and Strathmill. The Glen Keith distillery has been closed down since 1999. With Glentauchers there is another distillery in less than ten kilometers away Mulben.
From Easter runs until the end of September on the weekends between Dufftown and Keith, the Keith and Dufftown Railway, a heritage railway.
