Keith Tkachuk

Keith Matthew Tkachuk ( born March 28, 1972 in Melrose, Massachusetts ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who played for the St. Louis Blues, Phoenix Coyotes and the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League.

Career

Tkachuk, who has a German grandfather, played until 1990 for the Malden Catholic High School and was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1990 in the first round as 17 of the Winnipeg Jets. He played one more year for the team of Boston University, before he made ​​the jump to the NHL.

In the NHL 1991/92 he was only 17 games in the NHL, but from the following season, he was an integral part of the Jets. Tkachuk was not only score goals, he also used his physical strength and was also in the penalty minutes on top of business. Teemu Selanne and Alexei Together with Schamnow he was one of the best young storm ranks of the NHL. From the mid- 90s, he was captain of the team, which moved to its best season 1995/96 with 98 points scorer, from the middle of Canada to sunny Arizona. In April 2010, Tkachuk announced to end his career at the end of the season 2009/10. In 2011 he was honored with induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.
