Kelly Bishop

Kelly Bishop ( born February 28, 1944 in Colorado Springs, Colorado; actually Carole Jane Bishop) is an American actress.

Biography

Supported by her mother, she began early to take ballet classes and went at the age of 18 years to New York to become a dancer. After a few minor engagements On-and Off -Broadway in 1975 she had with her Tony -winning portrayal of Sheila Bryant in the musical A Chorus Line 's breakthrough. From then on she focused mainly on a career as an actress and was seen among others in films such as Private Parts and Dirty Dancing.

However, the theater, she remained loyal and took, among others, Stockard Channing, the role of Ouisa Kettdrigde in the play Life - Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare. In the later film adaptation Kelly Bishop was seen in a supporting role. From 2000 to 2007 she played the role of Emily Gilmore in the hit TV series Gilmore Girls.

Kelly Bishop is married to talk show host Lee Leonard since 1981 and lives when they are not currently working in Los Angeles, New Jersey.
