In 2001, he returned once again active in his home country and played in the summer league United States Basketball League for Oklahoma Storm.

Israel (1999 to 2004)

Much more successful is crafted his career in Europe. Since autumn 1999, McCarty played with short breaks of five years in the highest Israeli basketball league. In addition to a runner-up with Maccabi Ra'anana in 2000, he reached out with Maccabi Givat Shmuel and Hapoel Jerusalem ever once the final of the Israeli Cup competition. All finals were lost against the dominant Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv. The only final match with an Israeli club, he won the ULEB Cup in 2004 against Real Madrid favorites surprising with Hapoel Jerusalem, which is the first and biggest international success of this association. He was elected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final game.

Russia (since 2004)

After this international success, he joined the Russian Super League in 2004. With the newly founded club Dynamo from St. Petersburg, he won the 2005 FIBA Europe League and was re-elected MVP of the playoffs, in this case as MVP of the Final Four tournament. After the professional basketball team Dynamo in Saint Petersburg was already disbanded in 2006 for financial reasons, he moved to the runner-up in the Moscow suburb of Khimki. After being with Khimki 2007 - as last year with Dynamo - third in the Russian championship, was one reached in the following seasons, three consecutive runner-up, as each one lost the final series against series champion CSKA Moscow. Only in the Russian Cup competition to 2008 was victorious in a final against CSKA. 2009, however, they also lost the final in ULEB Eurocup against Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius Lithuanian club.

Ahead of the European Basketball Championships 2009 McCarty took Russian citizenship. He was called to the national team, and participated for the defending champion at the European Championship finals, which ended with disappointing seventh place. At the end of his career moved McCarty 2010 Premier League rivals UNICS who has been trained by Yevgeny Paschutin, in the newly established PBL, which had replaced the Super League as the highest national league. With Paschutin he had to its active time still played together in the 2000 /01 season at Maccabi Ra'anana itself. With the team from Kazan he won the 2011 ULEB Eurocup and the regular season of PBL. In the VTB 2010/11 season McCarty was elected MVP of the 7th Round. Both the semifinal series of the Championship play-offs as well as the semi-finals of the VTB United League, but lost against his former club from Khimki. In the ULEB Euro Cup 2011 /12 quarter-final play-offs, where they were clearly inferior to the Spanish champions FC Barcelona was reached as a freshman. While 2011/12 moved into the VTB United League finals to lose there against CSKA, you disappointed in the Russian Championship, in which one in the PBL 2011/12 after a sixth place in the main round yet a fifth place in the placement Round reached. After something of a surprise in the qualification of the ULEB Euro League 2012/13 was eliminated, you could in the Eurocup 2012/13 to qualify for the quarter-finals, while in the VTB United League 2012/13 and the PBL 2012/13, a similar course of the season as a year previously apparent. After they had already separated the end of January 2013 coach Aco Petrovic, also in mid-February, the agreement with McCarty has been resolved.
