Kelly Moran

Kelly Moran ( born September 21, 1960 in Huntington Beach, California, † April 4, 2010 ) was an American speedway driver.

Life

Moran went already in 1978 racing in the British professional league and was a year later in Chorzow (Poland ) in his first world final. In 1982 and 1990 he was World Champion with the USA team and was still standing in 1982 and 1984 in the World Cup final. In 1992, he finished his career after a broken collarbone and denied in 2003 a brief comeback, but the referred only to race in California.

Moran was the older brother of Shawn Moran, the Long Course World Champion of 1983. He also became the " Jelly Man" or "Balance Wizard " called when drifting in the curves depended almost next to his bike. Moran died on April 4, 2010, a complicated pulmonary emphysema.
