Kelly Olynyk

Kelly Olynyk ( born April 19, 1991, Toronto ) is a Canadian professional basketball player who is currently with the Boston Celtics under contract. He comes from a basketball family, his father was coach of the University of Toronto and the junior national team of Canada.

College

Olynyk played from 2009 to 2013 for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, the team of Gonzaga University, where he played together with the German national team Elias Harris. The 2011/12 season continued Olynyk completely, but returned in the following season back as one of the best players in the NCAA. He was voted player of the year, the West Coast Conference and the Consensus All- America First Team and the Academic All - America First Team. During his college days Olynyk also participated with the Canadian National Team at the 2010 World Cup and the America Cup 2011.

NBA

In NBA Draft 2013 Olynyk was in the first round at 13 - selected instead of the Dallas Mavericks. Shortly after his selection Olynyk for the rights to Lucas Nogueira and two future second-round draft picks was transferred to the Boston Celtics. On July 7, 2013, he signed a rookie contract with the Boston Celtics after he scored on his debut in the NBA Summer League 25 points.
