Kem (Russian Кемь, Finnish Kemi ) is a 191 km long river in the Republic of Karelia in Russia. It has its origin in the lake Nischneje Kuito and flows through a number of lakes to the White Sea. There is a chain of five hydroelectric power plants along the river course. The town of the same name located at the mouth of the Kem Kem. Important tributaries are Tschirka -Kem and Okhta of right and Kepa and Schomba from the left.
