Kemah is a city in Galveston County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.
Geography
The city is situated in southeastern Texas on Highway 146 and Farm Road 518 at the Galveston Bay, 35 km northwest of Galveston and the Gulf of Mexico and has a total area of 4.7 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.
History
The town was formed in 1898 on the line of the Texas and New Orleans Railroad and first Evergreen and then named Shell Siding. In 1907, he was then renamed Kemah, as the first post office was opened.

According to the census of 2000, there were 2,330 people in 892 households and 566 families. The population density was 502.6 inhabitants per km ².
