Kemal Okyay

Kemal Okyay (born 25 February 1985 in Kayseri ) is a Turkish footballer who plays for TKI Tavşanlı Linyitspor.

Career

Association

Okyay began with the club football in the youth department of Kayseri İl Özel Idaresi and later played for the youth team of Kayserispor. In the latter, he was fitted in December 2003 with a professional contract, included in the senior squad. The first season he was almost exclusively on the bench and only came with two cup games for use. For summer 2004, the partner club Kayseri Erciyesspor promotion to the Süper Lig and then swapped the competition rights with Kayserispor. This Okyay played with his team suddenly in the top Turkish league to have done it without the climb. Okyay evolved over the years to become an integral part of the team. In his most successful season, he won the Turkish Football Cup with his team for the first time in club history and was with his team on top of that table fifth in the Süper Lig end of the season he stocked the then successful coach Tolunay Kafka and put it on the sale list.

So Okyay moved perforce to partner club Kayseri Erciyesspor. Here he played for one season and then went to the first division club Manisaspor. After just one season he returned to Erciyesspor. The change Okyays to league rivals Adanaspor was announced in summer 2010. This change came then did not materialize and Okyay stayed with Erciyesspor.

For the second half of the season 2012/13 he moved to third division Nazilli Belediyespor. In the spring of 2014, he joined the second division TKI Tavşanlı Linyitspor.

National

Okyay played a total of five times for the Turkish U-20 national team.

He was also nominated in 2005 for the second selection of the Turkish national team, but was not used.
