Kemmete

The Kemmete is a small to medium-sized creek in the town of Neuhof ( district Fulda). It rises in front Vogelsberg near the Neuhof local part Hauswurz and continues through the Kemmetetal to Neuhof district Rommerz. From there it goes on to Neuhof, where the Kemmete opens into the Lilac.

At the Kemmete formerly were numerous mills, some places, are still preserved, of which five in Rommerz: hammer mill ( here oil was beaten ), ox- mill food grinder, angel grinder and Bowelsmühle.

The Kemmetetal is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the district of Fulda. The clear water that comes mostly from the Vogelsberg is only very slightly soiled, to the initiation of Lützbach in the center of Neuhof. There then flow the saline waste water from Neuhof - Ellers added the K S AG.
