Kemmler
The Kemmler with Bismarcksäule
The Kemmler is a 507m high hill on the southern edge of Plauen in Vogtland. After the southerly Culmberg he is the second highest peak Plauens and is considered its own mountain. Its wide conical shape is due to volcanic activity in Devon, which accumulated diabase here. The hilltop is wooded. At the top of Kemmler stands as a lookout a Bismarcksäule, of which offers a panoramic view of Plauen and the bounding Vogtland.
