Kemnitz

Kemnitz is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. It is administered by the Office Lubmin based in Lubmin.

Geography and transport

Kemnitz is between Greifswald and Wolgast, just east of the Danish Wiek ( part of the Greifswald Bodden ). The town is located north of state road 109, on the railway line Greifswald - Lubmin. About ten kilometers west of the municipality is the town of Greifswald and six kilometers north-east is the official residence Lubmin.

Through the community of Hans Bach Haeger, which is also called Kemnitz flows.

History

In 1248, the first time a water mill on the Kemnitz was mentioned in a document, which burned in 1894. On today reminds a millstone on the village street.

Kemnitz - dairy

Kemnitz - dairy was first reported in 1920 in the topographic maps. It was a Vorwerk Good Kemnitzerhagen, it was first referred to as " yard II". The then existing " farm I" - also known as Müller's yard - south of Kemnitz is now desolate.

Neuendorf

New village was mentioned in 1281 as " Nigendorp ". As dozens of new villages in early German time established during the eastward expansion.

Rappenhagen

Rappenhagen was first documented in 1265 mentioned as "Rain messenger Hagen ". Then the name changed in 1618 to " Raven Hagen " and only 1735 " Rappenhagen ". He is an early German Hagen- founding - the place on the clearing.

Schönefeld ( historical )

Schönefeld was mentioned in 1280 as " Schonenuuelde ". Since about 1753 the place is desolate like. The place is not to locate clear, there are different variations. Suspected is the place Neuendorf itself, but soil conservationists Hornemann suspected old Slavic settlements east of Neuendorf as Ortswüstung Schönefeld.
