Ken Downing

Henry Kenneth " Ken " Downing (* December 5, 1917 Chesterton; † May 3, 2004 Monte Carlo ) was a British racing driver.

Ken Downing was representative of Connaught in the 1950s, when he began racing cars in his spare time. In 1951 he celebrated 17 victories in sports car racing before switching to a 1952 Connaught Type A. With the A -Type drove the Grand Prix of Great Britain and the Netherlands, without being able to place in the top field. In 1953 he was defeated narrowly after a hard fight to the Grand Prix of the Chimay Belgian Paul Frère and its HWM.

The end of 1953 Downing resigned from racing and emigrated to South Africa. He died in the spring of 2004 in Monte Carlo.
