George Kenneth Griffey Jr. ( born November 21, 1969 in Donora, Pennsylvania ) is a former American professional baseball player. He played 21 years in Major League Baseball and was mainly in the 1990s, the most successful players.

Career

Griffey began his MLB career in 1989 with the Seattle Mariners in the American League, a team that had been founded only in 1977 and had previously hardly boast successes. Also thanks Griffeys services as batter the Mariners were in the 1990s to a relatively strong team, 1995 and 1997, won the title in the West Division. Four times he made it a value OPS (OBP plus SLG ) of more than 1,000 as a hitter.
