Ken Hammond (ice hockey)
Kenneth Paul Hammond ( born August 22, 1963 in London, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League.
Career
Hammond played for four years from 1981 to 1985 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the Eastern College Athletic Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. After an outstanding 1984/85 season, in which he, as captain led the university team, the Adam Oates belonged to win the national championship, he was elected into various representative teams.
That same season, he signed with the Los Angeles Kings, who had selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 1983 in the eighth round at 147th place, his first professional contract. In the remaining course of the season he came to his first three NHL inserts. The following three seasons spent the defender in the organization of the Los Angeles Kings, but was mainly for the New Haven Nighthawks, the farm team of the Kings, in the American Hockey League on. Following the 1987/88 season was followed within a short time, moving to the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. The 1992/ 93 Ottawa was his last stop on an NHL team. In the following three years, the Canadians left his career in the minor leagues at the Providence Bruins and Kansas City Blades finish. After the 1995/96 season he resigned from active competition.
