Ken Macdonald

Kenneth " Ken " Donald John Macdonald, Baron Macdonald of River Glaven, of Cley -next-the -Sea in the County of Norfolk Kt QC ( born January 4, 1953) is a British lawyer and politician of the Liberal Democrats, who as since 2010 Life peer member of the House of Lords.

Life

After the visit of Bishop Wordsworth 's School Macdonald graduated from 1971 to 1974 to study the subjects Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford and then a postgraduate degree in law. After graduation, he was admitted to the bar in 1978 at the Chamber of Lawyers ( Inns of Court ) of the Inner Temple. As a result riding Macdonald, who was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1997 specialized, as a lawyer in criminal law and engaged next in the association of criminal law ( Criminal Bar Association), in which he is the Chairman of the Education Committee since 1997 Member of the Executive Committee and, since 1999, between 2002 and 2003 only Vice - Chairman and in 2003 was chairman.

2010 Macdonald, who is of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a trustee of Index on Censorship since 2009 visiting professor, was appointed deputy judge of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales.

By Letters Patent of 12 July 2010 Macdonald was raised as a life peer with the title Baron Macdonald of River Glaven, of Cley -next-the -Sea in the County of Norfolk in the peerage. Shortly thereafter, took place on July 20, 2010 his Introduction ( Introduction) as a member of the House of Lords. In the upper house he belongs to the Group of the Liberal Democrats.
